What devices does it work with?

Any Wi-Fi enabled device, such as smartphones, laptops and tablets, will work with our WiFi hotspot device. Up to 10 devices may be connected simultaneously.

Is using the internet with a portable Wi-Fi hotspot safe and secure?

Using the internet through a personal portable Wi-Fi hotspot is more secure than connecting to public WiFi or shared internet networks. With GlocalMe, you can enjoy a private, safe personal internet connection just like your home WiFi router. No one can access your network unless you share the GlocalMe WiFi name (SSID) and password, which can be viewed in the "device section" of the official APP.

How many devices can connect to a GlocalMe hotspot?

The number of connected devices depends on the GlocalMe model. Some portable WiFi hotspots support up to 10 devices, while selected models may support more. For the best performance, connect only the devices you need, especially when using video calls, streaming, or large file uploads.

Can I make phone calls using a portable WiFi hotspot device?

Portable WiFi hotspot devices only provide internet connection, so you cannot make regular cellular phone calls directly on the device. However, you can use VoIP platforms such as Skype, Facetime, Viber or WhatsApp to make network calls on your phone, tablet or computer when connecting with GlocalMe portable WiFi.

How does GlocalMe portable WiFi work without a SIM card?

GlocalMe portable WiFi hotspots use CloudSIM technology to connect to supported local networks without requiring users to change physical SIM cards. After the device is activated and a data plan is available, it can create a WiFi network that your phone, laptop, tablet, or other devices can connect to.

Will it work on an airplane?

Sorry, your GlocalMe hotspot will not work on an airplane. GlocalMe partners with local cellular carriers to provide outstanding data service for our users. Only satellite technology works up in the air.

Does portable Wi-Fi work on a cruise ship or at sea?

It will work by ports or on land where there is cell reception, but not far out at sea (only satellite technology is available far from land). However, GlocalMe Hotspotswill work when your ship gets closer to ports and cruise destinations. The closer you are to land, the better connection you will receive.
